Of water: a ten-point system
Chisenhale Studios, London &
various locations, Glasgow, 2018

An exhibition of collaborative research, text-based works and a canal-side reading event, bringing together artist/writers from Glasgow and London in a dialogic process involving writing, mapping and discussion to investigate bodies of water and multi-authored narration.

Four Glasgow-based writers were brought together in a writing group, to share and discuss texts about a freely chosen ‘body-of-water’ space in the city. Taking the distances between these locations, corresponding sites in London were determined along the Hertford Union Canal and connected water systems, with the Chisenhale Studios site on the canal as the central point. This provided the starting points for four London-based writers to respond with a written piece, the results of which were shared and discussed in a second writing group held at Chisenhale Studios. An exhibition and public reading event followed.

Presented by To Whom This May Concern with writing participants Adrien Hester Howard, Anna Danielewicz, James St Findley, Calum Sutherland, Fox Irving, Katarina Kelsey, Daniel Neofetou and Luli Perez.
